It was almost a year ago. The whole community gathered for the the assembly which was to determine how we choose our new leadership for the province here in Australia. We spent some time in prayer, discussions and of course of celebrations around the table. For the final meal my friend and I prepared a few dishes: beef, pork, plenty of vegies and a very yummy nice gravy! All present really enjoyed the meal and some sisters heading back home that afternoon asked if they could take some leftovers for the day after for their lunch. When everyone left I felt how tired I was. All the efforts in contributing to the day and the celebration at the end took its toll. To celebrate community is to intentionally put efforts in sharing what nourishes our relationships with one another – for the body and spirit. When you serve the food everything is important: taste, presentation, variety of choices. That day I was grateful for the opportunity to contribute in the best possible way I could for everyone to enjoy the delicious meal after the day of exchanging the spiritual gifts we bring to one another.
