Sometimes we don’t need much in our life to be happy or to make others happy. One autumn’s afternoon I made “My Aunty’s apple cake”. This cake is very simple and easy to make. The aroma of baking filled the house and made it feel very cosy in no time.  It also prompted me to think about the meaning of simplicity. I am quite often amazed by the simplicity of children’s prayer. They just say what they think. They use simple words without trying to impress God or to pretend anything. No wonder Jesus said: Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14). Simplicity in what we do and say is a value which we should practice as adults. Simplicity brings us closer to God and one another. That’s something I thought about when making the apple cake.  😆
