Surprise fish

It was a summer time. One Friday afternoon I received a message from my friend, Lizzy: “Can you come to my place and pick something up?”  I knew that the message like this means some yummy food to be shared in the community. What I found was looking like a big potato balls. I got a tray with those big balls and was instructed to serve it with the drizzle of a sauce prepared. How big was the surprise for all of us when we cut the ball and found out that inside was a rolled fish fillet and some layers of vegies. The dish, which looked insignificant at first, had a meticulously made treasure inside! It was pretty amazing! We all enjoyed eating it  and thanked Lizzy for her great  surprise dish. This dish make me thinking about ordinary life events, which sometimes appear to us as ordinary and insignificant, but when we realise that our efforts can change into treasures – it changes everything. Lizzy’s dish brought the colours and flavours to the next level: care, creativity and spirit of sharing. These are the values each one of us can hide or break open and share with others.
