About movies, cheap shops and celebration of Easter

There are some movies which I could watch over and over again. One of them is “The Devil Wears Prada”. Why? Great actors, entertainment values but also interesting lessons to learn from there. One of my favorite scenes is the one describing the reasons how the best fashion designers impact our own life. If we realise it or not – it does have an impact on us – the way we dress, choices of things we buy and use.

Sometimes I joke that I am an expert on finding the good items  available in the cheap shops. If you need something on budget – ask me and I will find it for you. Items which people purchase in the expensive brand shops can be found in the “no brand” places for the fraction of the cost and, surprisingly, it does not mean that they will be of the very low quality.

What if… we compare God’s love for us to the cheap shop. Everything you need is there. The cheapest way, affordable, stress free but coming from the best designer!

The difference is, God has the best quality for all you need compared to any designer brands products which are often too expensive, too stressful, too disappointing. Bible presents us with many words of reassurance that God’s love is. My favourite is the one from Isaiah: “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. (Is 55:1).

This weekend, and for the next 50 days, Christians around the world celebrate the Resurrection of Christ. Jesus paid an ultimate price for all of us. Some of us probably had a great celebration of this biggest event of the life of the world. But maybe for a majority it was an ordinary day, maybe even with some family disagreement or un-easy situations. No matter if celebrated on the big or small scale, God gave us for free all what he had – the life of His only son. He gave us the best! All!

Alleluia. He is alive!
