Jesus and His work – I and my work

About five years ago I had an opportunity to spend a few days in Paris. Knowing that it might be once in a lifetime opportunity, accompanied by my sister, Lucyna, who travelled from Poland to meet me there, we used every minute of our time to walk our way through the most significant places of this great European icon of art and history. One of the “must go” was visit to the Museum of Louvre. This experience was very interesting. Walking through those magnificent galleries, was for me not only a moment of admiring famous pieces of art, but even more pondering about the ARTISTS and THEIR WORK. Some of them are known more than the others, all are telling through their art the story of their life – joys, tragedies, things which were important and significant for them. Some of them known worldwide, others foreign to me which I never heard of.
Recalling this event made me think about my life. What kind of stories possibly my LIFE and WORK is telling now and possibly will be told in the future. Would anyone hearing about GRACE and HER WORK, has a moment of pondering, inspiration, motivation or not so good memories. I know that I cannot control the way I am perceived by others, but I can do my best to be able to live a life which is a statement or at least a reflection of JESUS and HIS WORK. When He lived and when He died, his life and work was focused, purposeful and radical: to love and show the love of His Father. His life, death and resurrection was unveiling day by day in His words, interactions with others and acts of healing, forgiving and embracing others with his Father’s love.
When religious sister in my congregation (csfn.org.au) makes her final vows, sister chooses the “mystery” of her life. It is the addition to her name which defines the most important plan for her life or attribute of God which she loves and admires the most. On occasion of my final vows, I have chosen the mystery: Sr Grace of God’s Countenance. By choosing this mystery I wished that people will see in me not only the face of God but also His presence. If His love comes through my deeds of kindness, love and care and passion for God and his work, then despite if anyone ever will hear of my name (like some of those from the Louvre) the inheritance of God’s work will continue as a ripple effect from the Ultimate Artist Himself, who created you and me in HIS IMAGE which made a perfect piece in His earthly and heavenly gallery.
What is your L
IFE and WORK?
Have a good day.
Sr Grace
